The Department of Clinical Sciences mission is to assure the health and productivity of animals to meet societal needs through high quality educational programs for professional veterinary medical students, graduate veterinarians, and the public through a faculty and veterinary medical center of excellence, and to advance and disseminate comparative biomedical knowledge in an environment of interdisciplinary collaboration.
The Avian, Exotics, and Zoologic Medicine service offers high quality diagnostics and treatment for companion, avian, and exotic species. They also partner with public zoological parks and aquariums, as well as wildlife rehabilitators to provide care to wildlife. The unit consists of faculty, house officers, and dedicated technicians. It is housed within the small animal hospital with dedicated hospital space however works across campuses to meet patient needs.

The Department of Clinical Sciences at Colorado State University seeks applications for a 12-month tenure track Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor in Avian, Exotic, and Zoological Medicine Service. The Avian, Exotic, and Zoological Medicine Service is responsible for the management of the AEZ caseload within the Veterinary Health System (VHS) as well as collaborating with partners in the Rocky Mountain Region. This position will support both clinical and didactic teaching in the DVM program, graduate student/resident and fellow training, and research in the area of Avian, Exotic, and Zoological Medicine. The position also supports an important clinical service in the VHS both in terms of client service and revenue generation. This faculty position will provide up to 26 weeks of clinical service. Additionally, we expect the successful candidate will develop an independent impactful research program and participate in collaborative research. Numerous opportunities for collaborative research exist throughout the college and university.
A signing bonus and compensation for moving expenses are additional possible one-time benefits.
