Pieper Veterinary is expanding, and we are looking for a third veterinarian to join us in our 7th location in Stratford, CT. Our new 5,000-square-foot hospital is scheduled to open in September 2023 and will have everything you need including a dedicated OR and dental suite, digital radiology, and ultrasound. If you are looking to be part of a family of hospitals that offer the highest level of care and are committed to a collaborative and supportive working environment, we want to hear from you!
Founded in 1937, our family of hospitals includes four primary care hospitals, one urgent care, and Pieper-Olson/Pieper Memorial Veterinary Center, a VECCS Level 1 hybrid ER/Specialty hospital in Middletown, CT. This network of doctors provides a one-of-a-kind community that supports each other and grows together. We are owned and operated by veterinarians and are excited to continue our growth in the northeast with our Stratford location.
We prioritize a doctor-led, medicine first approach and are proud to offer equity options to our veterinarians. We believe in an integrated veterinary system that brings together veterinarians and medical teams from every type of practice to support our community. Pieper Veterinary is committed to education and in addition to our internships and residencies, we partner with Middlesex Community College to provide clinical training for their AVMA-accredited veterinary technology program.
Our benefits package includes equity options, sign-on bonuses, fully paid short-term disability, 401K with match, and a generous pet care discount.
If you would like to hear more about this fantastic opportunity, please contact Patrick O’Keefe at pokeefe@piepervet.com or call 973-986-0620.
Pieper Veterinary considers applicants for employment without regard to, and does not discriminate on the basis of, an individual’s sex, race, color, religion, age, disability, status as a veteran, or national or ethnic origin; nor does Pieper Veterinary discriminate on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity or expression.
With roots in the local community dating back to 1933, Pieper Veterinary was originally established as a mixed animal practice by Dr. Niel Pieper, with the goal of providing the highest standard of care to both patients and clients. Today, Pieper Veterinary is a hub and spokes model practice, featuring four general practice hospitals, supported by our urgent care center as well as our emergency and specialty center, located throughout the Connecticut River Valley.
We are proud to be able to offer the most advanced technology and diagnostics to our patients, while still maintaining the feeling of community and family that the Pieper name has come to stand for. We are also very proud to be a VECCS Level I certified emergency & critical care facility.

We love what we do
We love what we do and who we do it for. We pay attention to the patient’s journey and we treat the individual. We’re passionate and proud of our work, our patients and our team. We put our hearts into it.
We believe veterinary medicine is a team sport
We know the best way to care for our patients and clients is by working together. We respect, trust, support... and encourage our co-workers. We have each other’s back. We ask “How can I help?”
Laughter is the best medicine
The work we do is challenging, and we stay strong by lifting each other up. We feel a positive attitude and a little humor has the ability to make all the difference in someone’s day.
We can handle it
In fact, we can handle anything. We take action while keeping out cool. We adapt to whatever comes through the door. We’re decision, confident and we are fearless. We like a good challenge and we do what is necessary.
