CVETS was born out of a passion to create a vibrant and modern veterinary hospital that could provide the highest level of medicine, and create a pleasant and fulfilling environment for our team. CVETS provides emergency care and specialty services at our 30,000-square-foot facility. Our Urgent Care facility is brand new to us and has had a wonderful renovation. You can expect to work shoulder-to-shoulder with the leaders of our hospitals so you are constantly seen, heard, and valued directly by those directly at the top.
Hours of operation will not include full overnight care. Our hours of operation at Urgent Care at 12 pm -10 pm, 7 days a week, which allows for a wonderful work/life balance. Critical care cases will be triaged to our Emergency, Specialty Referral hospital in Northeast Columbia. While we are growing rapidly in locations and team numbers, CVETS is committed to maintaining it’s privately owned status. CVETS is looking for experienced Licensed Veterinary Technicians (LVT) to join our team of exceptional people.
Key Individual Responsibilities:
Be punctual and have strong dependability with attendance, work ethic, and responsibility.
Participate in continuing education programs with at least ten (10) credit hours in approved lectures/forums per year.
Obtain or maintain membership in a professional society.
Responsible work ethic including working with others, working independently, and prioritizing quality patient care.
The ability to demonstrate leadership qualities while maintaining harmonious interpersonal relations with the team.
The ability to provide exceptional client service and patient care.
The ability to work and interact professionally across departments and with external clients representing CVETS with the highest level of teamwork and solution-driven thinking.
Taking vital signs and obtaining patient's medical history
Performing emergency first aid
Specimen collection and performing laboratory procedures.
Administration of medication under the direction of a veterinarian
Proactively communicate patient status to oncoming shift and frequently with doctors to facilitate the highest level of patient care.
Education: Completion of a LVT certification program (preferred)
Experience: At least one year working as a veterinary technician

CVETS, Columbia Veterinary Emergency Trauma and Specialty, is a new Specialty/ER hospital looking to add to our team. Our hospital opened in May of 2018 and is growing rapidly. We are just finishing adding another 20,000 square feet to our hospital. The facility includes dedicated suites for Critical Care, ER, Surgery, Internal Medicine, Oncology, Neurology, Rehab, Cardiology, and Imaging, including both MRI and CT along with a Hyperbaric Chamber as well as a conference room that will hold 40-60 people. Our team is dedicated to teaching making our Internship and Residency programs successful. The hospital is located on the northeast side of Columbia, South Carolina - an area that is rapidly growing and was not previously serviced by specialty care. The hospital and its staff have been designed with a culture aimed at exceptional client services and personal job fulfillment. We have also opened a separate free-standing Urgent Care Facility in West Columbia.
