We are a privately-owned small animal hospital in Waynesboro, Georgia, about 20 miles south of Augusta.  Our hospital has 3 full time doctors, 2 licensed veterinary technicians, and 5 highly experienced veterinary assistants. We have an interesting, diverse case load, and we enjoy collaborating between doctors to provide the best care for our patients. We have a well trained, experienced support staff that is dedicated to their jobs and to providing compassionate, quality medical and surgical care to the many animals of Burke County and to several surrounding counties.  Of course, we have all the bells and whistles:  Abaxis’ in house lab with Imagyst, Cuattro’s digital X-ray machine,  Companion’s class IV therapy laser, and plenty of computer stations for invoicing and charting.  Our surgery suite has been newly renovated with 2 surgery tables and brand-new overhead lights. We manage most of our soft tissue and orthopedic cases in-house but naturally will refer when needed.  We also know how to manage our work/life balance effectively.  We know what it’s like to have a young family or to have a hobby that you are passionate about (outside of the hospital!). 

Augusta and the surrounding areas also have a lot to offer. Augusta is the second largest city in Georgia and is home to Fort Gordon Military base and the Master’s Golf Tournament. This central location is only about a 2.5 hour drive to Atlanta, Savannah, Charleston, and Columbia. Augusta has many restaurants and stores, a nice mall, a riverfront downtown, beautiful parks, farmer’s markets, and many outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking, horseback riding, and riverside walking trails. Our hospital is located a short drive from Augusta, and here in Waynesboro we have a charming historic downtown area with restaurants and boutique shops.

If you’re still reading, you’ll probably want to know the nitty gritty aspects of the job.  Our salary is extremely competitive, plus we are offering a $20,000 sign-on/retention bonus with a 2 year contract. We offer medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401K, PTO, GVMA/AVMA dues, PLIT, and a CE package (we want you to love what you are doing and be well educated about it).  Full time veterinarians work four days a week from 8 AM-5:30 PM and one Saturday a month from 8 AM-12 Noon.
