APAWS Veterinary Hospital is looking to grow our practice by adding an associate veterinarian. We are looking for a candidate who is a team-player, self-motivated, and ready to help the community. We currently have one full time and one part time doctor, three Licensed Veterinary Technicians, multiple assistants and are continuing to grow our support team.
APAWS has a diverse clientele, offering services to the general public while also servicing rescue organizations and animal control agencies. Our goal is to provide affordable and compassionate care to not only the owned pets but to the homeless pets in our community as well. There are also opportunities to participate in cruelty investigations for our neighboring counties. While we are not a shelter, this position provides a one-of-a-kind opportunity integrating general practice with shelter medicine.
Here at APAWS, we are fortunate to have an owner assistance program called Montana's Fund. This fund helps us provide extra support to families who have fallen on hard times and need a little extra help. We have supported families with services for diagnostics, emergency and routine surgical procedures and routine wellness.
We are a 501c3 non-profit organization therefore, are a qualified employer for Public Service Loan Forgiveness. Full time or part-time employees can both benefit from this with a minimum average of 32 hours per week. Other benefits offered include health insurance including dental, three weeks of paid time off, paid holidays, continuing education allowance and payment for licensing fees.
We have state of the art equipment to support a full service hospital including: digital and dental radiographs, in-house IDEXX analyzer equipment, ultrasound, cold-laser, and more. We have opportunities for mentorship, ultrasound training, and want to help you grow in your career. We use Cornerstone software, have digital medical records and utilize a transcribing service to dictate medical records.
Your responsibilities would include but not be limited to preventative care, surgery (routine and soft tissue), dental procedures, emergent cases, diagnostic work-ups, effective communication, and being a part of a positive collaborative team.

APAWS (Animal Protection and Wellness Services) is a 501c3 non-profit, full service veterinary hospital. We opened on February 14, 2022 in Eastpointe, Michigan. Our 6,000 sq. ft facility has undergone full renovations and equipped with state of the art equipment. Our practice consists of 5 exam rooms, 3 separate isolation rooms, a serenity room, 2 fully equipped surgical suites, a large treatment area, digital radiography, an employee lounge area and more. We have outfitted our practice with with an oxygen scavenging system throughout treatment and the surgical suites. We are incredibly proud of the large number of pets we have been able to help so far since opening. We want to continue to grow as a practice and be able to help even more pets and their families in the surrounding communities.
