The goal of the BRP Veterinary Externship Program is to support students as they gain professional experience. With over 200 practices nationwide, we pride ourselves on matching your goals and interests with our available opportunities.
Program Benefits:
Under the supervision of experienced veterinarians, Externs participate in direct client care and receive individualized coaching and mentorship. All duties are subject to and in accordance with each state’s veterinary practice act. Benefits of participating in the BRP Externship Program include:
Collaborating within a high-functioning team to learn hospital workflow and protocols
Refining your animal restraint and technical skills (including sample collections, administering medications and more, dependent upon experience)
Observing and participating in routine and emergency examinations, diagnostic interpretations, and surgical and dental procedures
Improving your interpersonal and client communication skills

Requirements:
Must be currently enrolled in an AVMA-accredited DVM program (or equivalent)
