Animal Protection League (APL), a non-profit organization located deep in the heart of East Texas, is seeking a full time veterinarian. Have you ever considered coming to the dark side and working for a HQHVSN Program? APL is passionate when it comes to our mission. We are proud to offer high quality, affordable services to the surrounding East Texas communities for the past 25 years. Since we first began our efforts, we have spayed/neutered over 250,000 pets and that number grows larger every day.
Do you want a balanced work/life schedule?
Do you want shorter days, great pay, less stress, and limited client interaction?
Do you hate turning patients away due to financial constraints?
Do you want to be free of after-hours duties and emergencies?
Do you enjoy surgery?
If you answered yes, APL is the place for you! Animal Protection League only offers spay/neuter and wellness for cats and dogs (vaccinations, heartworm/FeLV/FIV testing, heartworm/flea/tick prevention, deworming, microchipping, nail trims, anal gland expressions). Our ideal candidate must be comfortable with pregnant, cryptorchid, and pediatric surgeries or willing to learn. We are not a typical HQHVSN program as a normal surgical caseload is approximately 25-35 pets per day. We can take time to work up to those numbers if you are new to the HQHVSN field. We have great doctors on board that would love to mentor you or if you would like to talk to them about APL, the staff or management, they would be open to speaking with you. We set strict parameters for our clients regarding their pets; we do not schedule surgery for pets that are over the age of 6 years old, over 80 pounds, have a history of neurologic disease, etc. Our days are about 4-5 hours long. A typical day starts around 9:30-10:00 am and ends around 2:00-3:00 pm as long as all surgeries are done. We pay a daily rate of $700.
We strive to maintain great relationships with our local veterinarians and all sick/injured pets are referred to private practice. We use EVET software, Miltex surgical instruments, and name brand suture. Benefits such as PTO, holiday pay, mileage reimbursements, Insurance, licensing and CE paid are provided. If you are scheduled to work at our Longview location, our director even cooks you a homemade lunch - dessert included.
Animal Protection League provides their service to 30 communities across East Texas. Our program is in high demand and we are constantly growing. If any of this interests you, feel free to reach out to our director at HCAPL97@GMAIL.COM
Until we speak, MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU

Animal Protection League is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization offering high quality, low-cost spay/neuter surgeries to the East Texas area for the past 25 years. We have three stationary offices as well as three fully equipped mobile surgical units that travel to 30 other East Texas locations. Animal Protection League's main goal is to minimize the magnitude of senseless euthanasia occurring in surrounding animal shelters by providing a low cost option for spay/neuter services, as many in the community cannot afford such services otherwise.
