Startown Veterinary Hospital is an established private practice searching for a full time or part time DVM.

We strongly believe in self-care and promote a work/life balance by having full time doctors and staff work 4 days a week, and we are closed on weekends.

We practice Fear Free techniques including low stress handling, touch gradient, high value treats and pre-visit pharmaceuticals when indicated. Our doctors and staff are patient advocates and strongly believe in the importance of client education.

We recently built a brand new 5000SF facility with 6 exam rooms, a chapel, large surgery and prep area, a dental suite with radiology, a large doctors’ office, separate cat and dog wings, a large breakroom and patio for staff, dog and cat recovery rooms, and pharmacy. We employ two patient care coordinators to support our doctors and front desk staff.

We offer soft tissue and orthopedic surgical services, in house diagnostics, digital radiographs, ultrasound, and much more! We provide overnight hospitalization, but we do not do boarding. We are completely paperless and have computers in every exam room.

Newton is a small town in the beautiful foothills of North Carolina with a vibrant downtown that is home to restaurants, boutiques, coffee shops, and the original movie theatre that opened in 1936. We are close to Lake Hickory and Lake Norman. We are 1 hour to the blue ridge mountains and 45 minutes to Charlotte. There is so much to do here from hiking and water activities to shopping and fine dining.

Our compensation package includes: competitive salary, health insurance, CE, discounted pet care, licensure and dues, and paid time off.
