The Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences at Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) is offering a six-month clinical internship in companion animal (equine and canine) theriogenology beginning January 1, 2025 through June 30, 2025, with the option to extend the internship an additional year through June 30, 2026.
The goal of the program is to introduce the candidate to a future career in academic or specialty private practice. This program is devoted to participation in the theriogenology service of the CVM Ranch and the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital (VMTH). Interns are assigned to either CVM, VMTH, or CVM Ranch responsibilities in 2-week blocks with flexibility on an ‘as needed’ basis. You will work under the supervision of residents and faculty. Technical skills and clinical judgment will be obtained through supervised case management, participation in research projects and attendance at rounds and seminars.
You will be required to pay for a faculty license ($125) through the state of Oklahoma and must have passed the NAVLE exam prior to beginning the internship. Parking permits are required to park near the teaching hospital. The approximate cost of the parking permit is $163.00 per academic year.

A DVM degree or its equivalent is required from either an AVMA accredited college of veterinary medicine, or the holding of a certificate from the Educational Commission for Foreign Veterinary Graduates (ECFVG) is required for consideration.
Foreign applicants will be considered for employment if eligible for post completion OPT (Optional Practical Training) or if from Canada or Mexico and are eligible for a TN Visa. Applicants from Mexico are required to schedule an appointment with the embassy for stamp approval whereas Canadian applicants do not need an appointment and receive their stamp of approval at the border.
