Thanks for checking out our post!  If you read on, look at our website, read our reviews you'll get a good feel for who we are and how we practice.   We really are unique in a lot of ways and are looking for a veterinarian who is eager to be a part of preserving the integrity of the art and science of veterinary medicine, and the well-being of the folks who work in our field.  

A bit about me and the hiring process: I've practiced in GP and Referral Centers in NYC, San Francisco and Philadelphia since 1997.  With a bank loan and some savings, I opened BRVH in 2016 as a means of being able to practice medicine guided by the medicine, and not money, as the bottom line (although, earning well is certainly a nice side-effect!).  I also wanted to be able to create a positive, equitable and inclusive work environment. I'm so grateful that these goals have been achieved! 

If we interview over the phone and we are both interested, the next step is to come and spend a day with us.  We want you to see our workflow, meet our clients and patients, experience how we interact with each other, treat our patients.  We want you to jump in, participate, discuss, share ideas.  

If that goes well, we get down to the nitty-gritty details of compensation, benefits, scheduling etc.

We pay well and offer great benefits.  The schedule depends on if you are looking for full-time or part-time, and we keep in mind the need to avoid burn-out.

We want you to know that we don't ask you to sign any contracts, we don't offer "sign-on" bonuses and we can't pay back your school loans.

At Brooklyn Roots our main goals are to practice really good medicine and surgery and to enjoy coming to work every day. We are a tight-knit group, we work hard, we get along well and we laugh. A lot.  As long-time GP's we also love being good at the whole range of what veterinary medicine can be, and  being able to offer that to our patients.  Our carefully curated staff of Doctors and Nurses excel at Internal Medicine, Surgery, Emergency, Dental and even Ultrasound.  This is no joke.  Back when we started, there were hardly any referral centers- so we got good at what we needed to be good at.  

We see a wide range of cases- from routine puppy and kitten care to big and interesting internal medicine and surgery cases.  We have all the bells and whistles that you need, we offer a great compensation package (and solid mentorship if you are a newer grad).  What we want most is a veterinarian whose capabilities and ideals are in alignment with ours, and who might be looking for a long term home.  Newer grads, as well as more experienced candidates are welcomed to apply.
