Unique Full-Time Permanent Position for Experienced Veterinarian.
A privately owned neurology/neurosurgery and advanced imaging practice is seeking an associate veterinarian to perform and oversee the anesthesia of patients undergoing MRI and CT Scans.
This is a Full-time position 8 am-6 pm 4 to 5 days per week, with set hours.
The requirements:
Ether completion of a small animal rotating internship or 3 years of clinical experience. Experience and strong interest in anesthesia.
The facility:
We have a 1.5T MRI, on-site 128 slice CT, state-of-the-art anesthesia machines, ventilators, monitoring equipment (ECG, ETCO2, SPO2, and blood pressure) and WAGs. With Less stress. Patient care-focused. Limited client interaction.
Job Overview:
This is the perfect role for someone who is passionate about veterinary medicine but maybe needs a break from daily client interaction. There is little to no client interaction in this role, and it is heavily focused on patient care.
You will:
Collaborate with our current MRI team to continue to develop our anesthesia protocols and patient care workflow.
Serve as a mentor to our staff members about anesthesia and monitoring. This means you are a go-getter with great organizational and communication skills who likes to lead and take charge.
Be supported by registered veterinary technicians, a certified MRI technologist, technician assistants, neurologists, and practice administration.
Have myriad opportunities to collaborate with and learn from board-certified veterinarians from nearly every specialty. There will be daily collaboration with neurologists, emergency vets, criticalists, surgeons, and internists. You must be able to play nice in the sandbox while supporting the needs of the imaging service.
Daily duties:
Supervision of day-to-day operations in the MRI unit.
Development of anesthetic protocols.
Pre-anesthesia evaluation for MRI patients.
Anesthesia monitoring and recovery.
Maintenance of controlled drugs and patient records.
Communication with referring veterinarians from within CVRC and sometimes external referrals.
Occasional communication with clients.
Weekend duties:
Evaluation of neurology inpatients and communication with on-call neurologists.
Emergency on-call for imaging 8 am to 3 pm.
Compensation:
$100,000 to $130,000/yr.
Bonus - 35 Scans a month = $1,000, 45 scans a month = $2,000
