About our Hospital: Companion Animal Hospital River North is a full-service small animal hospital that treats dogs and cats. Our state-of-the-art, three-story hospital was built in 2018 by our medical director, Dr. Amanda Schnitker. She has worked very hard to create a collaborative environment, a healthy work-life balance, and a diverse team. Our basement contains our offices and grooming services, the ground level contains our lobby, 8 exam rooms, and a treatment area, and the upper level contains our surgery and dentistry suites, ICU, and daycare.
Our hospital is fully equipped with an in-house lab, digital radiography, digital dental radiography, and ultrasound. We also have a therapeutic laser, PRP, Vetrostim, and stem cell therapy. All our doctors have their own laptops containing our electronic medical record software, eVet. Each doctor also has a dedicated doctor's assistant, who helps with client communication, taking medical histories, assisting during exams, and making treatment plans.
At CAH River North, we perform a large variety of routine and advanced soft tissue surgeries and orthopedic surgeries. Dr. Schnitker completed a specialty surgical internship and additional training in the TTA procedure, so she is experienced with multiple CCL repair procedures, patellar luxations, simple fractures, and most advanced soft tissue surgeries. Our doctor's assistants keep clients informed of when their pet is going into surgery when they are out, and a picture of when they are fully recovered.
