Bethel Veterinary Hospital has been an institution in Bethel, CT for over 38 years. We are a NON-CORPORATE, PRIVATE hospital. The founder of the practice cultivated a hospital that focused on quality medicine instead of quantity. We currently have 2 vets and 1 CVT on staff, 4 experienced techs enrolled in school, and a support staff of 18.

We have laptops for staff and Doctors!

We have tablets for client communication!

We use Idexx Cornerstone Software!

Labs? We have Idexx digital radiography with radiology consults available. We have the full in house Idexx lab suite. We run a ton of labs!

Dentals? We do about 6 COHATs a week, with digital dental rads mandatory.

Surgeries? Most soft tissue stuff is done 3 days a week. We have a board certified ortho specialist who comes in and does TPLOs/other by appointment only.

Ultrasounds? We can do Echos and Abdominal Ultrasounds with traveling Internal Medicine specialists.

We're looking ideally to add a new full time vet to our practice, part timers would have to at least work 2 days a week on average for this to work. Without that, there's no way to build up the rapport with the clientele. Our staff has deep roots in the community and so do our clients. The Police Chief and First Selectman are clients!

We practice Fear Free techniques, so no getting beat up!

We are in the early stage of an addition and renovations, new private doctor offices, break room with full kitchen, dental suite and a doggy daycare facility on first floor.

Mentorship? We are open to new grads and have monthly doctor-only meetings where we discuss cases and new methodologies. We encourage and pay for conference/CE attendance.

And you get an assistant! You’ll have an experienced veterinary assistant and vet tech depending on the case in rooms with you. They're able to exercise the treatment plan for you as you go over the details with the client.

Doctors' notes are typed into cornerstone so transfer of cases is a cinch! Just read the medical note from the previous day.

Lunch? You generally get an hour for lunch. But you're saying, everybody says that. Nope, it usually works. Lunch time is sacred!

Compensation? Thanks to our petcentric community of pet families, we pay our doctors very competitively. Each compensation package is tailored to the needs of the individual associate. 100% production, pro-sal, pure salary, benefits, everything is customizable based on the associate. Signing/moving bonuses are negotiable.

Work Culture? Our clients are special. Can't say that enough, they are very nice. Of course every practice has their "Karens," but we fire those clients. What? You're not forced to deal with abusive clients? Nope! Tell the hospital director and that client is gone! Zero tolerance, life is stressful enough.

Records? We are “Paper Light,” Every medical record is in Cornerstone. SOAPs are typed directly into Cornerstone. We do not write paper prescriptions, we type them up. Our blood and rads are completely integrated with cornerstone. Check-in sheets get shredded after all the information gets typed into cornerstone. We eliminated our fax machine years ago! Painful, but sometimes you have to rip off the Band-Aid!

Economy? Fairfield County is amongst the wealthiest in the nation. Our clients are able to provide for their pets!

Surrounding environment?  Are you a foodie? There are tons of great food options around. Bethel is a foodie town, embracing the farm-to-table approach. Hiking? Boating? Fishing? Tons of those within a short drive. Award winning schools for the kiddos, education is king here! Broadway? Concerts? Sports? By car, you are in Manhattan in an hour.
