Are you looking for your ideal place to land in a beautiful country location? Are you that person who dreams of living in a peaceful spot, maybe a small farm, where you can have your horse or chickens, garden and the time to enjoy a cup of coffee on your porch watching a sunrise? Would you like that vision to include practicing quality medicine with good co-workers, clients and mentoring? Do you have a good work ethic and want to contribute to a happy work environment?
We would love to welcome you to our small animal, private practice in rural Louisa, Virginia. You'll find a wonderful quality of life here in our historically farming community between Charlottesville, Richmond and Fredericksburg. This location means you are near the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains, ocean, lakes and D.C. city life along with multitudes of outdoor activities, beautiful countryside and historical areas, yet reasonable land prices, taxes, quite a few colleges and universities, good schools and a friendly small town community.
We are looking for one full-time or two part-time additions to our professional staff of 3 DVMs and 2 LVTs, along with a stable support team that likes and appreciates each other. We see mainly dogs and cats, but also a growing number of exotics (not required) and the occasional "pet" laying hen. We are happy to entertain your practice interests as well. There is possible buy in potential here.
Interests and skills should include internal medicine, diagnostics and case work up as well as surgery, dentistry, senior and preventative care. In addition, strong ability in communicating with clients, client education, staff education and a fun attitude toward work are appreciated. Multitasking ability, good business sense, time management skills, computer skills and an appreciation for fellow team members also help. Social media and website skills would be an appreciated bonus.
We are nicely equipped with new Heska in house lab equipment, new Cuattro digital xray, cold therapy laser, otic video endoscopy, dental equipment, tonometry and more.
We enjoy a four day/ four and 1/2 day rotating work week and are closed weekends. Scheduling provides a 3 day weekend every other week. Emergencies are supported by multiple nearby emergency and specialty centers. There is flexibility built into our schedules.
We enjoy being a smaller practice that engages with clients and provides them and their pets thoughtful, up to date, quality medical care and personal service. We really care about our clients and patients. We like being the kind and size of practice where everyone can keep up with the best interests of patients, clients and staff. We enjoy being happy.
Experience is very helpful but we will consider any new graduate capable of working independently with, of course, case discussion and mentoring.
