Port City Emergency Veterinary Hospital is growing! We are a brand new facility that has been open for 15months. Independently owned and operated, we have already established ourselves as a trusted and reliable emergency veterinary hospital in the area. With a team of 6 doctors, 10 technicians and 14 support staff, we are dedicated to providing the highest quality care for our patients. Due to increasing demand, we are looking for a talented and compassionate Emergency Veterinarian to join our friendly and knowledgeable staff.

At Port City, our emphasis is on culture and inclusiveness. We believe in creating a positive and supportive work environment and strive to ensure that all of our staff feel valued and appreciated. Each of our doctors are skilled in different areas of surgery, internal medicine, and diagnostic imaging. We work as a cohesive team to utilize these skills and provide gold standard of care.

All doctors rotate through shifts in blocks of 8am -8pm, 12am -12pm and 8pm-8am. Examples of schedules our current staff have are 3 on 3 off, 3 on 4 off, 4 on 5 off. We believe in a schedule that allows our team a healthy work life balance while providing round the clock care to our patients; we are open to finding a schedule that works best for you.

Responsibilities:

• Provide quality emergency veterinary medical care to a variety of small animals.
• Ability to handle multiple emergencies at once.
• Perform necessary surgical procedures with utmost care and professionalism.
• Communicate clearly and effectively with clients and staff regarding the pet’s condition and treatment options.
• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records.
• Educate clients about the importance of preventative care and healthy living for their pets.
• Work closely with other members of the veterinary team to provide the best possible care to our patients.
• Participate in teaching and mentoring veterinary students and staff.

Qualifications

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from an accredited institution.
• North American Veterinary Licensing Exam (NAVLE)
• Active license or ability to obtain a license to practice veterinary medicine in New Brunswick, Canada.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, time management is key.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Compassionate and caring attitude towards pets and their owners.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Compensation

• Salary is DOE, range is $110-200k
• Production potential can be lucrative.
