Compensation:
Being an MD is a comprehensive job and we aim to compensate accordingly. A base salary of $250,000 annually plus 22% production (paid monthly) on all ER DVM shifts, and an opportunity for Medical Director bonuses quarterly based on hospital growth and profitability. Overall salary expectation is $350,000 - $450,000 per year.

Qualifications:
A passion for leadership, management, and team success. Preference is given to those with a proven track record of success in veterinary hospital management
Someone who cares deeply for their team members, clients, and patients.
A minimum of 2 years of extensive experience as an Emergency Veterinarian with aptitude in managing critical cases. Preferred surgical experience and knowledge of procedures such as Foreign bodies / GI surgery, GDV, Pyometra / C-Sections, Cystotomy, Splenectomy / Hemoabdomen.
Previous Medical Director experience is preferred with an ability to manage and lead veterinary medical teams.
Our hospital is 24/7/365, candidates require flexibility to work and be available to their teams days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

MD is focused on doctor development and the maintenance of a high standard of veterinary medical care. This includes: being present on various shifts, providing coaching on case management, case review and auditing, holding monthly MD / Doctor check-ins, and quarterly doctor meetings.
In conjunction with our Hospital Manager, MD is responsible for ensuring the growth and development of the hospital team. This includes: being present on various shifts, holding monthly hospital meetings, providing coaching, and meeting with team members as needed.
The Medical Director must foster and develop strong working relationships with the leaders of our team including our Hospital Manager, Inventory Manager, Nursing Director, and lead technicians. Strong communication and organizational abilities are a necessity.
Able to communicate effectively with team members regarding the needs of clients and the Referring Veterinary community.
Willingness to learn and utilize Ezyvet and Vetradar software
Responsible for managing overall department workflows, ensuring that patient care is delivered in an efficient, safe, and compassionate manner
Fulfilled by helping others and providing mentorship while leading a team
The Medical Director is responsible for scheduling all doctor shifts and having that schedule available ninety days in advance
Help in the recruiting, onboarding, and training of new doctors
Work closely with your hospital manager to handle customer complaints that are deemed to be of a medical nature in a timely manner
Understand doctor ACT (average client transaction) and overall revenue and how these numbers can elucidate areas of doctor growth and development
Hold M&M rounds as needed
Working with your hospital manager to help perfect workflow and efficiency in the hospital
Create a relationship of accountability and trust with your doctors, hospital manager, and other members of the leadership team
Have a transparent understanding of the hospital’s financial health and help to make decisions that will build revenue and profitability
Work as an emergency veterinarian 6 shifts per month to best understand workflow and areas of growth
