The Mid-Atlantic Equine Medical Center is looking for an associate to join our field service team.
Located in central New Jersey horse country midway between New York City and Philadelphia. We pride ourselves on offering a blend of quality service and diagnostics in the field with exceptional intensive care and state of the art diagnostic imaging in hospital.
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who values teamwork and communication. Our practice has an expanding general ambulatory and emergency caseload with ample opportunity to pursue/explore specific professional interests. Our ambulatory veterinarians service all facets of the equine industry, including Thoroughbred and Standardbred breeding stock, performance sport horses and pleasure horses. Field service vehicles are well equipped with digital radiography, ultrasound, shockwave and endoscopy equipment, and operate as an extension of our 24-hour medical and surgery referral center. Being a part of a referral hospital facilitates mentorship, case discussion and case follow-up. A large intern class allows you to be a mentor, sharing your knowledge and expertise with new veterinarians. Call will be shared among four practitioners with a 4-day work week. An intern (one of seven who rotate every 2 weeks) and/or a technician will be present during regular business hours to assist with appointments. After hours, the field service intern is on call to participate in emergencies.
Our compensation package includes: Salary commensurate with experience plus production and emergency bonus structure, health insurance stipend, liability insurance, 401K, CE compensation, licensing fees and AAEP/AVMA membership.
Since opening its doors in 1986, the Mid-Atlantic Equine Medical Center has developed an enviable reputation as one of the premier equine veterinary hospitals in the country. Our reputation has given us the opportunity over the years to work on horses of various breeds and disciplines, from Kentucky Derby, Hambletonian winners and Olympic athletes to our local Hunterdon County equine friends.
Over the years, our staff has grown to over 40 dedicated individuals, including board certified specialists in the fields of surgery, internal medicine, sports medicine & rehabilitation, and cardiology. In addition to the hospital clinicians, we also have a field service department, whose veterinarians work closely with the specialists as a team, providing quality care at home. Our technical staff has also grown to 20 qualified individuals.
The team that has been put in place allows the hospital to provide exceptional care to the patient, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. A doctor is always present at the hospital to oversee the care of patients. Perhaps more than any of our credentials is our doctor’s commitment to resolve equine health issues and patiently and effectively communicate with horse owners and professionals.
