We are an AAHA accredited, AVFP Gold level Feline Friendly hospital located in Midlothian, VA which is located 25 minutes from downtown Richmond. We are searching for an additional associate veterinarian to add to our our team. We have been open for 13 years and pride ourselves in offering friendly service and building relationships where we truly get to know our clients and their pets. We also support the community by performing community service to help our community and volunteering our time with one of the local shelters. We are experiencing client and hospital growth because of our reputation and are searching for a candidate that is experienced and able to help us continue growing by practicing excellent quality medicine and utilizing great communication with clients and our staff. Candidates with specialization interests, especially exotics, ultrasound, rehabilitation, surgery or internal medicine are encouraged to apply.
We have completed an expansion to our hospital which includes 7 exam rooms, a staff break-room with kitchenette, dental suite and surgical preparation area.

No after-hours or emergency calls

Qualifications and Skills
A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited university.
Veterinarian License in good standing to practice in Virginia
Job Type: Part-Time to Full-time
Full Time Salary range: $90,000.00 to $120,000- Open to discussing Pro-Salary compensation structure
Responsibilities and Duties
Develop a rapport with clients and determine their needs and wishes; perform physical examinations and diagnostic/medical/surgical/dental procedures in a way that will deliver the highest quality care while minimizing patient stress and discomfort.
Explain physical examination findings and communicate to the client a diagnosis of the pet’s problems; generate and present a treatment plan for the pet to the client; educate clients on preventative health care, including vaccines, dental cleaning, and appropriate nutritional products.
Maintain client/patient medical/surgical records and make certain all necessary logs are kept up-to-date through established protocols
Stay up-to-date with new medical information and changes in veterinary medicine, attend Continuing Education meetings.
Assist in the development of the paraprofessional team to ensure the delivery of the highest quality care and exceptional client service.
Positively represent the hospital in the professional community and to the general public.
