Look Ahead Veterinary Services is a bustling, majority small animal two doctor practice located in Butte Valley, California. We opened our doors in 1998 to serve our rural community and we continue to do so today. We offer a wide range of services including preventative care, soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, dentistry, radiography and ultrasonography as well as acupuncture, spinal manipulation and herbal therapy. We currently have two full-time veterinarians, two licensed technicians and several experienced support staff.
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate veterinarian to join our team. The ideal candidate should have a passion for animals and a commitment to providing high-quality care. You will be responsible for diagnosing, treating, and managing illnesses and injuries in cats and dogs and if you choose, small mammals, livestock, and the occasional equine. We are looking for a full-time associate however we are open to part-time employment as well.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine check-ups, vaccinations, and health screenings
Diagnose and treat illnesses and injuries
Conduct surgical procedures as needed (mentorship available)
Collaborate with other veterinarians, technicians, and support staff to ensure optimal patient care
Provide education and advice to pet owners on animal care and disease prevention
Maintain accurate and detailed medical records
Stay current with the latest developments in veterinary medicine and attend continuing education events
Provide mentorship to veterinary support team by communicating medical standards, ethical practices, and your knowledge and experience
Other responsibilities as assigned

Butte Valley is known for its agriculture and relaxed way of life, however we are just a short drive, 18 miles, from downtown Chico.

Qualifications
DVM (or equivalent) from an accredited institution
Current license to practice in California
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work well in a team environment
All hospital veterinarians are expected to work together in a collegial fashion and are expected to behave in a professional and personable manner
Must be a team player willing to learn new techniques and treatments, offer creative ideas, and accept change
Must be a strong communicator who enjoys creating lasting relationships with clients and the community
