Our Culture and Team:
Our mission at Sugar Land Veterinary Specialists is to provide the best possible veterinary specialty and emergency care for pets and their owners with outstanding customer service, understanding, compassion and communication. We recognize, respect, and support the value of every co-worker and our referring veterinarians in this TEAM effort to succeed in OUR MISSION. Our core values—do the right thing, fun, wow service, trust, respect, responsibility, integrity, compassion, knowledge, and loyalty—guide everything we do at Sugar Land Veterinary Specialists.
When you join our team, you will be working closely with our Medical Director and Internist, Dr. Emily Medici. Dr. Medici is originally from Baton Rouge, LA and received her DVM degree from the Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2004. She practiced in a small animal private practice for two years before entering a small animal Internal Medicine residency at Oklahoma State University which she completed in 2009. She practiced for two years in Kansas in a specialty clinic before deciding she missed the South.
Our Hospital:
In addition to emergency care, our team offers internal medicine, critical care, diagnostic imaging, ICU, medical oncology, neurology, surgery, and radiation oncology. We are well equipped with digital radiography, a 16 slice CT with 3D recon abilities, Halcyon Linear Accelerator, an ultrasound, MRI, and a full in-house laboratory. We offer fluoroscopy and laparoscopy and have scope towers for urinary, gastrointestinal, nasal, and orthopedic cases. We have a great atmosphere and established referral base.
Our Community:
Our community has outstanding schools, great restaurants, live music, shopping, and 25+ parks! Sugar Land is home to the Houston Museum of Natural Science, Fort Bend Children's Discovery Center, and the Houston Astros Triple-A affiliate team, there is something for everyone!
Our partnership with Lakefield Veterinary Group is a long-term relationship dedicated to compassionate veterinary care. We are building communities of talented and like-minded veterinarians that will embody our core values of Respect, Wow Service, Learning, Fun, and will always Do the Right Thing. There is no greater reward than strengthening the human/pet bond. It is our responsibility to go beyond the borders of our local legacy and provide expert level veterinary medicine to pets all over the world during our annual trip with World Vets. We invite you to come experience the Lakefield family.
