Huffard Animal Hospital in Pasadena, Maryland, is eager for a Veterinarian Surgeon to join our team!

Our hospital is a progressive and advanced small animal general practice located just a few minutes outside Baltimore and Annapolis. We are looking for a doctor to help with our surgical and dental caseload. Our collaborative and compassionate eight-doctor and 55 support staff team are looking for a doctor who shares our same goal of providing a high standard of care!
Our 3,500-square-foot facility has many amenities, including:
nine exam rooms
two complete surgery suites
1 Dental suite (2 tables) and dental x-ray
Pharmacy
ISO
ICU and a separate Feline ICU
Cutting Laser
Cold Laser
New X-ray unit
Ultrasound
Full In-house Lab
Large treatment area to include a pre-op area and kitchen for hospital boarders
We prioritize creating a healthy work environment! Schedules are set several weeks in advance, including rotating weekends. Our team of doctors works together if any schedule changes are needed. There are no overnights or after-hour ER care, and a trained member of our Medical Support Team provides supervision to hospitalized overnight patients, allowing for a limited rotating on-call schedule shared by all our doctors. Veterinary Surgeon Duties & Responsibilities
The duties of a veterinary surgeon in private practice require the ability to do the following work:
Conduct presurgical exams and diagnostic tests.
Evaluate X-rays.
Use specialized equipment.
Lift and position animals
Perform surgical procedures.
Stand for extended periods.
Supervise post-operative care.
Interact with surgical veterinary technicians, primary and emergency vets, support staff, and animal owners.
Prescribe follow-up home care.
You must also be sensitive to the owners’ needs and help them understand their critical role in their animals' recovery.
