Vida Veterinary Care - Denver, located in Denver, Colorado, is looking for a full-time Emergency Veterinarian to join our ambitious team! All levels of experience are welcome to apply!

About our clinic: Vida Veterinary Care is a full-service small animal general practice and emergency hospital offering high-quality medicine, surgery, and service to the Denver community. Our team treats dogs, cats, and exotic species, such as pocket pets, reptiles, and birds. Our diagnostic equipment includes a comprehensive in-house laboratory, digital radiography, digital dental radiography, ultrasound, and endoscopy. Several of our veterinarians are trained to use endoscopy and laparoscopic surgery equipment, routinely performing lap spays, gastropexies, and liver biopsies. We would support any candidates interested in becoming proficient with endoscopy or laparoscopy. We are paperless and use Impromed for our electronic medical records. Our associate, Dr. Rachelson, performs acupuncture and also utilizes our cold laser. Furthermore, we work closely with a board-certified cardiologist and an ultrasonographer to perform echocardiograms and ultrasounds as needed, and a board-certified surgeon comes in multiple times per month to perform orthopedic procedures.

At Vida, our general practice is open Monday through Friday from 7 am to 7 pm, with emergency services offered from 7 pm to 12 am, Saturdays from 7 am to 5 pm, with emergency services offered from 5 pm to 12 am, and only emergency services offered on Sundays from 8 am to 12 am. Ideally, we are looking for someone interested in working 3 ten-hour shifts, 2 pm to 12 am on weekdays and up to 2 weekends per month. Our emergency doctors are alone from 7 pm to 12 am seeing emergency cases and managing patients, so we do need someone confident in working alone and comfortable performing emergency surgeries. We do have exotic patients come in in an emergency, mainly requiring basic pain management and/or providing oxygen therapy. We have additional resources for those not comfortable or familiar with exotic medicine. Our overnight technician is well-trained and stays until 7 am monitoring and performing any scheduled treatments on patients. You can learn more about our incredible practice at vidavetcare.com.

Ideal qualifications:

• Colorado Veterinary License – active and in good standing

• Team player who supports our positive, collaborative culture and works well with a wide range of personalities
• Experience or willingness to learn emergent case management of exotics
• Experience with emergency surgeries preferred but not required
• Passionate about veterinary medicine and moved by the idea you can help people have long-lasting bonds with their pets
