New York Veterinary Practice, located in Manhattan offers full-service veterinary care at four  Biscuits & Bath locations with a focus on wellness and preventative care. Our externship allows DVM students to gain valuable real-world experience by shadowing a practicing DVM, participating in rounds, helping with pets for procedures (at the doctor’s discretion), observing doctor-client interaction, and observing surgery You will shadow eight hours a day, three to five days a week with one of our experienced DVMs.  Your development will involve observation in the following areas: Medical Skills Physical Exam How to perform a proper examination How to weigh a dog Check vitals Checking full system
