About Nutmeg Spay/Neuter Clinic
Nutmeg Spay/Neuter Clinic is a non-profit organization that provides reduced cost spay/neuter services for cats & dogs throughout Connecticut and beyond. Our aim is to end pet overpopulation. Nutmeg Spay/Neuter Clinic was born out of our desire to eliminate the needless practice of euthanasia of unwanted litters of companion cats and dogs in Fairfield County and our neighboring communities. We began as FeralCare with a mission to reduce feline overpopulation and suffering by providing spay/neuter and vaccination services to free-roaming cats living outdoors and owned cats living in households in-need. Through our educational programs and fieldwork we aimed to improve the quality of life for the cats and the communities in which they live. After six years, we realized that a permanent facility that performs reduced-cost spay/neuter and vaccination services for all cats and dogs is the only way our efforts would make a meaningful impact. Now, with a full-time clinic, we not only help reduce euthanasia practices at animal-facilities and private shelters, we can focus on community education to help decrease the number of unwanted litters being born.
