Seeking Medical Director for ER/critical care hospital in Windham, NH

Rockingham Emergency Veterinary Hospital is seeking a Medical Director in Windham, NH! REVH is a 24/7 emergency/ critical care only facility located in Southern New Hampshire, about 45 minutes from Boston. In 2020 REVH expanded both the hospital and our parking lot to accommodate rapid growth, and we are now adding a Medical Director to our staff to better streamline patient and client care. The Medical Director will be the immediate supervisor of the associate staff, and will be responsible for advancing the quality of medicine and patient care within the hospital. Examples of responsibilities would include organizing in-house continuing education and training for doctors and technicians, helping to develop standards of care, helping to develop training protocols and schedules for veterinary externs, assisting with REVH becoming VECCS certified, and generally helping to improve hospital flow, patient care, and customer service (including making recommendations for new equipment or services as needed). This will be primarily a leadership, supervision, and training position. Administrative duties will remain the responsibility of the Practice Manager, with input and collaboration with the Medical Director and owner as appropriate. As this is a new position at REVH, the responsibilities of Medical Director may evolve via mutual agreement as the hospital continues to grow. Because REVH is privately owned, the Medical Director will have constant communication with both the practice owner and Practice Manager, both of whom are frequently on-site and easily available. The schedule of the Medical Director will include both regular ER shifts and “off the floor” shifts as needed. This is a full-time position. The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of emergency experience and is technically advanced in ER medicine, has a positive attitude and is an excellent communicator and leader. He or she must be emotionally mature and have a strong work ethic. REVH includes a full in-house laboratory, newly upgraded DR Xray, ultrasound, isolation ward, and a surgical suite fully equipped for all soft tissue surgery, including electrocautery and state-of-the-art patient monitoring equipment. We have a new Snyder ICU cage, and an OGSI oxygen generating system. Technicians are well-paid, highly-skilled, and properly utilized. All staff members are appreciated and treated as such- we value all employees’ input and most decisions are made as a team. Abusive clients are not tolerated. Turnover is low, with some employees having been with us since we opened 11 years ago. The Medical Director position pays a generous base salary plus monthly production bonus, plus an additional management salary, with the potential for profit sharing.
