CHIEF OF STAFF

Total Veterinary Care® (TVC) is looking for an experienced veterinarian to become the CHIEF OF STAFF for our established hospital in beautiful Grove City, OH (just 10 miles outside of Columbus). This is an excellent opportunity for a doctor interested in growing their leadership and business skills while making an impact on the hospital and community as a whole.

The Chief of Staff — together with the Practice Manager — guides and mentors the hospital team to deliver excellent care to patients and build client relationships. They provide the highest level of ethical and professional service to all clients using their expert medical advice, judgment and technical skills. In addition to performing medical procedures, they help cultivate a transparent and trusting relationship with pet-parents and the community through education and awareness.

Basic Qualifications and Skills:

• Ohio DVM license in good standing (or eligibility for licensure)
• 2+ years of experience providing guidance and mentorship to a team 
• Familiar and comfortable with the philosophy of servant leadership
• Clear communication and affability with clients as well as the hospital team
• A commitment to practicing the gold standard of veterinary medicine
• Ability to think creatively and problem solve
• Team player who can work effectively in a fast-growing, dynamic environment
• Strong relationship building skills
• Willingness to teach and mentor staff 

The Chief of Staff:

• Is a full-time responsibility, requiring an average of approximately 40 hours of scheduled work per week.
• Sees appointments in the hospital at least one Saturday each month.
• Adjusts their schedule to help cover emergency or unexpected coverage situations.
• Sees appointments during open holiday hours, sharing coverage annually with the other veterinarians.
• Seeks schedule coverage and solutions that best serve the clients and team’s needs.
