Urgent Care Veterinarian in Vermont

Peak Veterinary Referral Center, in beautiful Northwestern Vermont, is looking for experienced veterinarians and recent internship-trained veterinarians to establish an Urgent Care Service in our hospital. The urgent care veterinarians at Peak will provide outpatient care to animals with conditions that are not life threatening, in collaboration with our specialty team.  Additionally, the urgent care veterinarians will oversee the hospitalization of patients after hours in partnership with our specialists. We are looking for talented, energetic, personable individuals with strong communication and interpersonal skills, who will be contributing members of our highly collaborative veterinary team. *Open to per diem and full-time positions*

Located in the greater Burlington area, Peak is situated between the Green Mountains and Lake Champlain in northern Vermont. Peak is the most comprehensive multi-specialty hospital serving Vermont, New Hampshire, and Northern New York, offering referral services in the fields of internal medicine, surgery, ophthalmology, oncology, cardiology, dermatology, and behavior. Our beautiful facility has an abundance of natural light, seven exam rooms, large primary treatment room, ICU with oxygen cage and isolation room, two spacious operating rooms, CT, X-Ray, Ultrasound, and additional kennel, food prep, and laundry spaces.

The establishment of an urgent care service within our specialty hospital will enable patients with non-life threatening illnesses and injuries to be seen on weekend days and weekday evenings, as referrals from veterinarians or directly from owners . Additionally, established Peak patients will be evaluated for complications related to conditions currently being treated by a Peak specialist. The urgent care service will also oversee the hospitalization of patients after hours and on weekends to ensure continued high-quality medical supervision of these patients. Peak Veterinary Referral Hospital’s vision is to grow this urgent care service into a 24/7 emergency service over the next 3-5 years.
