Required qualifications include DVM or equivalent degree, eligibility for Diplomate status in the American College of Veterinary Surgeons or European College of Veterinary Surgeons, and competency in equine surgery and emergency care. Diplomate status in the American College of Veterinary Surgeons, experience with emergency and critical care, and a MS or PhD are highly desirable. An opportunity exists for a motivated candidate to participate in a concurrent two-year fellowship in Equine Emergency Medicine and Critical Care. The successful applicant will have proficiency in surgery and emergency care as this is an essential component of the position. The candidate should have excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment with other faculty members, residents and staff. It is also desirable for the candidate to have demonstrated enthusiasm for research as well as educating the next generation of veterinarians and veterinary specialists. |
