We have a full-time position available for a certified or graduate veterinary technician to work on the road as a large animal technician. There is a strong emphasis on equine medicine. Cows and small ruminants like sheep, goats, and camelids round out our large animal practice. You will be expected to be able to use effective and appropriate restraint techniques on horses and farm animals, including halter, tie and lead as well as have experience with a twitch. The ideal candidate will have at least an associate degree in veterinary technology and several years of horse handling experience preferably at a large stable. In this position, you will be preparing vaccines, medications, restraining animals for the veterinarian, assisting with x-rays, ultrasound, shockwave, surgery, and treatments, and keeping appropriate records.
