Associate veterinarian or veterinary practice partner
Madera Ranchos Equine Clinic
Equine practice with flexibility and ample time off Madera Ranchos Equine Clinic is a general 100% equine practice that needs a second veterinarian. It is located in California's central valley. This area has a very large population of horses and not many equine veterinarians, so there is ample opportunity. The clinic is surrounded by shade trees and has stocks and several treatment areas, stalls and pens, a round pen, and an arena. We also have a truck with a vet pack to do ranch calls in the area. We treat a wide variety of horses including family/trail horses, ranch horses, team ropers, dressage horses, race horses, reiners/cow horses and minis. The case load includes broodmare work, routine preventive care including dentals, illnesses and injuries, surgeries that can be done in the stocks or on the lawn (we do not have a surgery table), and lameness work ups. We have an excellent farrier on site one day a week to take care of corrective trimming or shoeing. We have a very good ultrasound machine, a just updated wireless digital xray system, a portable endoscope, an electrochemotherapy unit and plenty of other "toys". Staff includes a full time tech and several part time employees. I would like more time off, and more time to spend on clinical areas of interest. Equine practice has the reputation of too many long hours with no room for a personal life, and it does not need to be that way. I can be very flexible with the scheduling and amount of time off. If you would like to make more money we can schedule accordingly. The clinic is also kid friendly and pet friendly. If you are a new grad I am happy to offer help and mentoring when you need it, and autonomy when you want it. If you have been in practice for a while and would like a better work/life situation I can be very open making it work out. I do not want just a worker, I would like a partner in the practice. This area has a relatively affordable cost of living, a good school system, minimal traffic, and is in general a pleasant safe place to live. Please call or email me if you have any interest in the position or have any questions. Brenda D Linman DVM
