Very busy small animal veterinary clinic located in western Montana is looking for a full time energetic, personable, experienced associate. This clinic is situated between two mountain ranges and has a great river flowing through it for those who love to fish, float or do both. 45 minutes away is a great downhill ski area and the surrounding area provides many locations to hike, hunt, mountain bike, cross country ski, snowmobile, and more. This clinic is located about 1 mile south of Hamilton, MT and has a terrific view of the Bitterroot mountain range from the lobby.
The clinic has a great clientele and is equipped with digital radiography, ultrasound, a nice selection of surgical instruments, in house Idexx Lab equipment, two exam rooms, large lobby, steam and gas sterilization, two anesthetic machines, dental equipment, infusion pumps, ample kennel space and a large, bright open place to work. Surgery, including sterilizations, soft tissue surgery, many orthopedic procedures and dental cleaning/extractions/oral procedures are performed here. The clinic provides after hours emergency call for existing clients, but on major holidays, call is referred to a nearby emergency center. A board certified internal medicine veterinarian is 45 minutes away for referral of complicated cases and he is also a great asset for the occasional question over the phone to help with some of the complicated cases that don't get referred. Washington State University is located about 5 hours away for the occasional case that can't be helped locally. Mobile CT is available when needed.
Salary for this job is based on experience and benefits will include paid health insurance premium, Simple IRA retirement plan, paid vacation time, paid AVMA dues, paid AVMA liability insurance premium and tuition for CE once per year.
The work schedule would provide for a 3 day weekend every other week and one weekday off on the alternating week. After hours call would be divided evenly between two veterinarians.
