The Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter in Georgetown TX is searching for a full time Veterinarian to provide Veterinary care to shelter animals in support of the shelter’s live outcome. Maintains the health of the shelter animals including health evaluations, vaccinations, diagnostics, treatment, dentals, high volume spay/neuter (including pediatric) and other minor surgeries, etc. Develops and maintains medical protocols and policies/procedures. Must be able to handle a heavy workload and be motivated to enhance the lives of lost and unwanted animals. Assist and guide staff in best practices for infection control. Graduation from a college or university accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree and licensed to practice veterinary medicine in the State of Texas.
Employment is contingent on passing post-offer, pre-employment criminal background investigations.
Knowledge of animal services and related programs
Clear and effective verbal and written communication skills are essential.
Excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with the public and staff; principles of supervision and teambuilding; experience working with volunteers.
Knowledge in animal health and well-being and nutritional needs.
Basic computer skills.

Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter is an open admission tax based animal shelter. We serve all of Williamson County and most of the cities within Williamson County.
