Our Hospital Sunset is a privately owned, AAHA accredited, full service veterinary hospital in a 13,000 square foot building, which includes a boarding facility that has won "Best of Solano" two years in a row. We have a very busy practice with 8 exam rooms, cat ward, dog ward, two isolation rooms, critical care area, surgery suite, employee pet ward, dental suite, separate dog and cat entrances, and a large reception for the comfort of our clients and patients. Our hospital is paperless on Cornerstone software and we utilize a computerized Whiteboard for in-hospital patient treatments. For client education, we use DIA (Diagnostic Imaging Atlas), E-Pet Health as a pet portal and a fully interactive Facebook page. Approximately 6 times a year, we hold fundraisers for our community and have a special fund (donations from our clients) to help clients with urgent medical needs in a time of financial hardship.
Our Team Sunset is a full-service animal hospital whose mission is to provide the highest standard of veterinary care in a manner that is friendly, informative, and supportive. Sunset Animal Hospital has a very fun and cohesive team, we care very much about each other and have a toxic-free culture. Our medical staff work very hard on maintaining up-to-date scientific and technological knowledge to provide our patients the highest standard of care in our community. Our support staff go through a vigorous training program and monthly team building exercises to be the best team, so we can deliver superior client service and exemplary patient care. As a result, we have built strong bonds with our clients and their furry family members. We are fortunate to be able to add to what we offer by having outside specialists come in and perform surgeries and ultrasounds for the convenience of our clients. Additionally, UC Davis is 30 minutes away and is our resource for additional specialists for the more complicated cases that warrant more specialized medicine.
Sunset Animal Hospital is centrally located between the Sierra Nevada Mountains and the Pacific Ocean for outdoor enthusiasts! Our hospital has been happily serving the Solano County community for over 30 years with some very long-standing and loyal clients. Our beautiful county is full of walking and biking trails, dog parks, museums, wildlife, factory outlets, boating, fishing, adult sports complexes, community events and 20 minutes away from the Napa Valley wine industry.
Role of Hospital Administrator
The Hospital Administrator is responsible for ensuring that the Sunset Animal Hospital provides exceptional care to patients; operates efficiently and achieves the highest level of client satisfaction. Primary responsibilities include: managing the administrative functions (fiscal, human resources, and legal), managing operations (medical, client experience, and facilities) and marketing of the Sunset Animal Hospital. The Hospital Administrator is also responsible for managing and directing the organization toward its primary strategic goals and objectives. Knowledge and skills required for this position include: knowledge of veterinary medical and management practices and procedures; fiscal management; strategic planning; quality assurance; human resources management and organization development; supervision; verbal and written communication; and leadership. The successful Hospital Administrator will work approximately 40 hours a week. This position will report to and work with the owners of the Sunset Animal Hospital. The person filling this position must possess and exhibit maturity and a high level of integrity; have strong communication, organizational, and financial skills; and be eager and able to train and supervise support staff.
