This Practice Manager will be responsible for managing our Emergency & Rehabilitation practices, as part of a team with the Operations Manager and technician supervisors of both practices. The Practice Manager will be responsible for leading the day to day operations of the hospital, supervising Human Resources, and for marketing of the practices. The Practice Manager needs to lead by example to motivate and inspire the team to provide an excellent experience for our clients and their pets.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Administrate all human resource functions including staff recruitment, hiring, training, scheduling, performance evaluations, counseling, and terminations.
Manage annual performance evaluations. Responsible for performance evaluations for supervised staff with the assistance of the department lead.
Develop, implement, and maintain Employee Safety and Disaster Plan procedures and manuals.
Assure compliance with OSHA and Workers’ Compensation programs.
Distribute all necessary communication materials with staff, including policy changes, relevant information discussed at meetings, and client feedback.
Ensure a positive hospital culture.
Marketing & Client Relations
Develop all practice marketing materials – brochures etc.
Develop and oversee content for website and social media.
Community outreach to referring veterinary practices and owner groups.
Maintain, and when necessary, amend client education handouts.
Respond to client concerns in a timely and appropriate manner. Resolve medical client complaints in partnership with the Lead Veterinarian/Owner.
Implement marketing activities in partnership with management team.
General Hospital Management
Keep management team informed of all relevant issues regarding staff, client issues, premises or equipment needs, etc.
Oversee inventory purchasing and management within budget guidelines.
Assure premises, plant and equipment are in safe, clean and optimum working condition, including the scheduling of regular maintenance.
Assure compliance with all regulatory issues.
Schedule and attend all required meetings, including staff meetings and the hospital leadership team meeting.
Monitor the hospital communications.
Manage the hospital practice management system.
Complete additional hospital projects as assigned.
Participate in the yearly budgeting process, monthly P&L reviews and discuss weekly financial reports with the Operations Manager.
Proactively monitor financial progress of hospital, analyze results, and adjust, if necessary, to ensure all budget goals are achieved.
Manage bi-weekly payroll process.
3+ years’ experience in a managerial role
Certified Veterinary Practice Manager or in process preferred
Previous experience in a veterinary specialty practice is preferred but not required
Strong interpersonal communication skills
Experience in marketing & social media
Strong leadership analytical qualities
Strong administrative and organizational skills
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Flexible and can adapt quickly
Problem solver, especially when dealing with conflict resolution
