Do you love animals?
Do you love going to work in the morning?
We do! BELIEVE IT. IT'S TRUE. :-)
If you wish you loved your job too maybe we've got the position you're looking for.
Bradford Veterinary Clinic is seeking a Veterinarian, new grads are welcomed *and* we are willing to train you if you want to be here as passionately as we all do.
We're just going to lay it all out in front of you so you can assess whether we're a decent match, & we can all avoid wasting each other's valuable time.
We are a team of dedicated animal lovers that spend every day taking care of people's pets. We're a full-service veterinary medical facility offering surgery, dental care, hospitalization, and routine appointments. We like to place a particular emphasis on preventative care. Our patients include dogs, cats, poultry, and exotics.
Our goal here is to be a well-oiled machine of teamwork and camaraderie in what can often be a fast-paced environment. We crack terrible - I mean hilarious - jokes all day long while our hands are almost definitely covered in something gross, & we're all attempting to do more things simultaneously than are actually humanly possible. Don't get me wrong it's not frantic every day, but most days you'll go home both exhausted AND satisfied that you made a palpable difference. Those who can say the latter about their employment seem to be the minority these days, & that's what keeps us coming back.
Dr. Susan Tullar has been a personal friend of mine for twenty years (Hi, I'm the website person :-) ) You'll never get a more honest description of your potential boss than this one. Susan is principled, she is fiercely loyal, she is brilliant, she is kind. When I was younger & still shy I was incredibly jealous of her easy ability to strike up a friendly conversation with anyone at anytime. She cares deeply about animals and people. She laughs easily and her laugh is contagious. Susan is an excellent teacher. She will patiently and with a complete lack of irritation explain anything she is doing (you know, on a non-emergency) because she enjoys sharing knowledge. Krystle is so pleased with Susan's teaching skills she told me she tried to get in to volunteer at this clinic literally for years but it was always overflowing with volunteers so that when she finally got in it felt like a triumph. Dr. Tullar will never pressure patients to do expensive procedures for the sake of cash. There is no artifice to her. You will always know how she feels. She also works as hard as anyone I know and holds those around her to high standards. If you work for Susan you'll work hard, you'll learn a ton and you will be expected to have a high level of intelligence, of compassion, of work ethic - and a very low level of petty anything.
What's your favorite part of going to work? Krystle’s is the joking around. Emily really likes giving injections - she was going to be a phlebotomist - but her second favorite part is when everything goes into emergency mode & OK that's not helpful Emily is definitely one of a kind. :-) Your mileage is going to vary, but we hope that your favorite part of going to work will involve joining your team of passionate caregivers to do excellent work helping animals every day of the week. We need you to communicate clearly and effectively. We need you to be versatile: great at teamwork but able to work independently without requiring babysitting when it's time to split up to cover more ground. We want you to love animals, to be willing to work hard and snort at our terrible jokes, and, if you'll have us, to bring us your brains and your heart and your hands and your joy. We don't love drama. This job can be stressful enough without any of our team bringing stress with them, so to be completely frank we've all experienced someone who can poison a room with their mood, and we can't be having any of that. We need you to be open, honest, caring, diligent, eager to learn, and ready to face each day's challenges with us. In return we will do our darndest to give you and our patients and their humans the best of ourselves each and every day.
In keeping with our teaching attitudes, we would love to foster any professional growth you may have or want to develop. An interest in acupuncture? surgery? behavior? another specialty? Our practice has room to help you grow into whatever specialty you have interest in.
And the pay & benefits are pretty good too. :-)
