The ideal candidate will be a reliable team player who is confidant, skilled, compassionate, communicative, courteous, self-motivated, and eager to serve and have a positive attitude. Adaptability and the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment are must-haves. A minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Registered Tech is a requirement.
Qualified candidates must be able to work a (weekly) rotating schedule between the hours of 7a and 6p and every other Saturday 7:45a-12p, with one full weekday off. This position is physically demanding and requires the ability to lift at least 40#, kneel, crouch, stand for long periods of time, have good manual dexterity and pay close attention to detail.
Job responsibilities include client communication/education, radiography, IV catheter placement, administering and monitoring anesthesia, dental prophys, animal handling and restraint, maintaining accurate detailed medical records, lab sample collection, performing basic laboratory procedures and operating in house lab equipment (Idexx Catalyst, Procyte, SediVue), dose calculations, preparing and administering vaccines and medications, medical care for hospitalized patients and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. Experience with Cornerstone is a plus.
