Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of Community Practice (Multiple Positions) School of Veterinary Medicine Louisiana State University
Job Summary: Provide service in community practice for canines and felines for the Veterinary Teaching Hospital at the School of Veterinary Medicine. Participate in training of house officers, veterinary students and visiting clinicians within the community practice service. Participate in scholarly activities within the Veterinary Clinical Sciences department and community practice service. This position is clinical track. Assistant/Associate/Full Professor (Clinical-Track)
Clinical and didactic instruction in community practice. Service and teaching topics to include: dentistry, practice management, spay/neuter programs and preventative and integrative medicine (80%).
Participate in the continuing education and outreach programs of the SVM and promote the Community Practice Service and establishing a self-supporting practice. (20%).
Required Qualifications: DVM or equivalent degree; five years in a private practice setting
Preferred Qualifications: Board certification by either ACVIM or ABVP. Demonstrated strengths in teaching and marketing, be energetic and imaginative, and have entrepreneurial abilities. Hold Louisiana license or qualify for faculty license and hold accreditation certification.
Special Requirements: Per PS-18, employee may be required to report to campus in times of emergency and/or closure. Be available/willing to work weekends.
