NO-KILL SHELTER Santa Paula Animal Rescue Center, a non-profit, no kill, city shelter (93060 - 25 minutes from Ventura) is looking for a veterinarian interested in doing more than spay-neuter shelter medicine; you will have all the responsibility of a regular shelter veterinarian including infectious diseases management and spay/neuter surgeries however as a no kill shelter, our guests are someties under our care for years, our veterinarian needs to be interested in internal medicine, end of life management, cooperating with external specialists as well as coordinating care; moreover our veterinarian will have to perform some soft tissues surgeries (other than spay and neuter) and managing emergencies. Our team includes 3 competent veterinary technicians, a group of more than 10 kennel attendants; the medical facility includes a completely equipped surgery suite, digital radiographs, emergency ultrasound; dental prophylaxis equipment, wet table, in house laboratory (Abaxis), two isolation suites and more.
This is a place to grow to your full potential, special interests such as TCVM are more than welcome. Experience in shelter medicine is a plus, but SPARC will consider every candidacy. DEA and California veterinary licenses are required; hours are flexible, full time preferable but part-time will be considered, remuneration will depends on experience and availability.
