SoBran is seeking a Veterinary Technician III for ourGreensboro, North Carolina facility (Browns Summit).
Manage multiple animal studies running concurrently in different phases, by following and complying respectively with the Animal Study Proposals
Restrain, handle, and manipulate various animal species
Perform study-related technical procedures, to include various forms of dosing, sample collection, anesthesia monitoring, surgical support, data collection, and necropsy/tissue collection on both large and small lab animal species
Calculate drug dosages and administration frequencies
Identify and communicate signs of abnormal health and behavior in multiple species
Perform routine treatments related to animal health and welfare, as directed by Facility Veterinarian
Understand and follow all SOPs and Quality Assurance Standards
Maintain animal health records
Ensure all facility activities are conducted in accordance to the Guide, the AWA, GLPs, and facility SOPs.
Collect and review raw data for GLP studies
Provide technical training to less-experienced technicians
Assist Facility Manager with animal census and receipt/inventory of supplies as needed
Assist in maintaining AAALAC accreditation standards
Communicate and document any deviations from the study protocols
Provide husbandry support during times of surge
Perform all other duties as assigned
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
B.S. in animal science or related discipline preferred
Certified by the American Association for Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS) as a Laboratory Animal Technician (LAT). Laboratory Animal Technologist (LATG) preferred
At least 3 years of experience in a GLP laboratory animal facility in a technical role
Must have excellent customer service, written communication, and organizational skills
Experience reviewing study protocols, forms, and reports for GLP compliant documents
Proficiency with a variety of Technical skills (dosing, sample collection, necropsy, etc.) and experience with multiple large and small animal species and Animal Biosafety Levels (1 to 2)
Proficiency with basic computer programs such as MS Word and MS Excel
