Catskill Veterinary Services, PLLC is a mixed animal veterinary practice founded in 2012.
Originally a house/farm call only practice the group has grown to three full time veterinarians and and fourteen support staff members. Our practice services Sullivan, Orange, Ulster, Delaware, Pike, and Wayne Counties. In August 2017, we opened a brand new small animal veterinary hospital equipped with all the tools you need to practice quality veterinary medicine. We are a completely paperless practice utilizing impromed as our medical record program. Our practice has true digital radiography (dental and full body), brand new ultrasound machine (4 probes), full in-house idexx lab(cbc/chem/coagulation, sediview machine) , in house bacteria cultures, (milk, urine, skin), patient monitoring devises (ETCo2, BP (doppler as well), tonovet, patient warming devises, fluid pumps, Bluetooth EKG/SPO2, two portable x-ray machines for large animals/house calls, a second portable ultrasound for lameness ultrasound, repro ultrasound, and companion laser therapy. We have all the equipment an equine/food animal veterinarian would need to provide quality medicine as well! Our staff is extremely dedicated, energetic, and enjoy having a good time working together. We have strong ties to the community through various outreach programs, not-for-profit groups, and local schools.
Our patient list is very diverse with about 1/3 of the practice being large animals (and growing). Our patient population is made up of dogs, cats, horses, cattle, camelids (alpacas/llamas), sheep/goats, pigs.
Our team strongly believes in teamwork, communication, work/life balance, high quality patient care. Applicants will be expected to see the following species (canine, feline, bovine, ovine, caprine, equine, porcine, camelids) with the potential to grow into seeing small mammals (pocket pets) and other exotics if interested. Applicants are expected to rotate emergency call with the other doctors as we do value work life balance. New/recent graduates are welcome to apply!
Pay is based on experience and salary structures can be discussed (full salary or pro/salary). Pay (after production) is typically $80,000-$100,000 per year including benefits. Additional compensation for emergency services. Doctors are paid 100% of the emergency fee/exam fee.
Emergency on-call rotated between four doctors throughout the month. On-call support staff also available to help during emergency calls. Enjoy a five day work week.
Candidates will have a fully stocked veterinary truck provided for them by the practice and a full time assistant on all mobile calls. Being comfortable with surgery (or willing to grow) is a strong positive but not required. Candidates will enjoy 2 weeks paid vacation, health insurance, accident/injury insurance, company cell phone (laptop and tablet), CE budget, paid licensing fees/DEA registration, and two membership dues paid for yearly.
