Responsible for the development of clinical nutrition, claims and clinical studies that provide a competitive advantage to Hill’s. This will include using nutrition expertise and innovative mindset in developing new claims, designing and conducting clinical trials and providing nutrition guidance in the development of new and improved pet food products. Individual will be expected to provide innovation, leadership and strategic direction to meet the company's goal of being number one in specialty pet food market worldwide.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
Design, conduct, summarize, and publish clinical studies in pet dogs and cats to support existing products, new products and innovation pipeline.
Search, read, and critically review published scientific literature and Hill’s studies in the development and preparation of product claims and claims substantiation dossiers for internal use, and to support regulatory and legal activities.
Develop and refine Hill’s nutritional philosophy and ensure globally that Hill’s products align with this philosophy through development and maintenance of Hill’s nutritional product design specifications.
Provide nutrition expertise to all relevant Hill’s programs and activities. Maintain familiarity with the latest developments in appropriate areas of biomedical research so that new products and product improvements reflect the true “state of the art.”
Write final reports of data from internal studies and scientific publications and make presentations to management and cross-functional Hill's groups especially Product Development, Research and Marketing
Simultaneously manage multiple projects, project budgets, time-lines and be accountable for deliverables
Cultivate relationships with researchers and clinicians outside of Hill’s to enhance Hill’s external presence and regard as well as bringing expertise, ideas and technologies that fill gaps
Education/ Experience Requirements: PhD/MS in animal science, veterinary science, animal nutrition, human nutrition (or related field)
Expected Areas of Skills:
Demonstrated understanding of nutrition, physiology, biochemistry and ingredients.
Basic knowlege of clinical study design and interpretation
Demonstrated skills in scientific information gathering, synthesis, and communication
Strong project management skills
Excellent communication skills (written and oral presentation) and strong technical writing skills.
Excellent interpersonal and team skills, which foster working relationships throughout Hill’s and outside groups.
