The Emergency Pet Clinic is please to offer a unique opportunity to new and recent graduate Veterinarians. We are located in San Antonio, TX near the San Antonio International Airport and close to downtown. We also have a satellite facility in Corpus Christi, TX. Our San Antonio facility is open 24/7/365 for emergency and critical care. In addition we provide internal medicine consults and abdominal ultrasounds with plans to add other specialty options in the near future.

The goal of the mentorship program is to provide a structured environment to develop confident clinicians. The first year of practice is an important time for Veterinarians. After completion of the program Veterinarians will be provided with a solid foundation for a long and successful career in emergency or general practice.
This is a 1 year mentorship program with opportunity for contract renewal as an Associate Veterinarian.
Generous benefits package include: moving allowance, stipend for licensing and membership dues, medical benefits, generous pet discount, 401K,uniform allowance and PTO. In addition all new hires will have paid CE to go through FAST vet CE to learn point of care ultrasound.
This 1 year mentorship program allows Veterinarians to be immersed in emergency medicine. New graduates are always scheduled on shift with a senior clinician dedicated to mentoring and ensuring success while allowing new graduates to maintain primary care responsibility. In additions new graduates are supervised during surgery with the goal of them becoming competent in soft tissue emergency surgeries such as C-section, pyometra, gastrotomy, enterotomy, gastropexy, and splenectomy. Further training can per pursued by rotating through our internal medicine department and can be arranged with different specialties including cardiology, surgery, neurology and ophthalmology. Group learning with all clinicians include journal club, topic, case-based and exotic rounds held monthly.
By the end of the year new graduates will be well-versed in most ECC presentations, and be proficient in typical ECC skills, procedures and surgeries. After completion of the program new graduates will be highly marketable, capable and comfortable practicing in any small animal emergency or general practice.
