SoBran is seeking a Project Manager II to serve at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland.
OVERVIEW: Responsibilities of this position are that of a Project Manager for the LARC 2 NICHD, Animal Care and Research Support Services contract. This position reports directly to the LARC Program Manager. These responsibilities include all activities required for the proper care and maintenance of on-site animals.
Essential Duties of the Project Manager II:
Understands and ensures staff follows all SOP’s and Quality Assurance Standards
On-site supervision to ensure that all functions of the contract are carried out in an efficient, courteous and professional manner
Generate monthly progress report and other related reports
Ensure that contract requirements are met, including proper staffing, training and AALAS certification requirements
Facilitate, and supervising when appropriate, all activities concerning contract personnel and project management
Oversight and management of the quality assurance and control activities of the animal facilities. To include, but not limited to, weekly facility walk-through, sentinel submission, feed and bedding submission, water testing and environmental testing.
Monitoring of animal care, husbandry and other technical support activities while ensuring the safety, security, and physical environment of the facilities and personnel.
Assist in the creation/revision of SOP’s with contract, and government personnel
Assist in the development and maintenance of relationships with representatives of government, research, and contract personnel in order to coordinate activities and assist in investigations into matters concerning quality and client complaints
Assist in personnel matters in collaboration with supervisory staff to include, to disciplinary issues
Directly responsible for daily supervision of the LARC 2 contract in support of NICHD
Provide oversight, supervision, and scheduling for the contract staff
Report any abnormal conditions of the animal facilities and motor vehicles, or immediate vicinity to appropriate contract, government personnel
Participate in interviews and selection of all personnel
Always think safety first when performing daily duties
Communicate daily with Assistant Project Manager on facility and animal related issues, personnel issues, maintenance updates and project status
Perform all other duties as assigned by the LARC Program Manager
Schedule: All employees are expected to perform their duties as assigned, arrive to work at 7:00 am and depart at 3:30 pm M-F. In addition, you will be expected to work extra hours during an emergency situation or if any unexpected situation arise until work is completed.
Experience Required: 2-4 years supervisory and management experience. Must have the ability to manage and supervise multiple and complex labor categories as well as maintain operation and quality control of up to two tasks.
Education Required: B.S. degree in biology, animal science, or similar discipline preferred, and or AALAS certification (LATG), ILAM, CMAR.
